Over the years, we have rescued, adopted, and taken over many FIV+ cats.
Some arrived too sick, too late, and passed away. Most were able to get better. Although FIV+, they could lead happy, healthy, carefree, and good quality long lives. As long as they are not aggressive, FIV+ cats can also live together with non-FIV cats.
All it takes is good quality food, a clean environment, and lots of love. In fact, a well-cared-for FIV+ cat can outlive a neglected and malnourished FIV- cat.
Despite these facts, some “rescue” groups demand that FIV+ cats be killed.
Owners also worry or panic when their cats are found to be FIV+, and potential adopters avoid FIV+ cats.
Although we have adopted and rescued many FIV+ cats, rescuers are not the solution for FIV+ cats.
The solution is the love and acceptance of FIV+ cats. The change in attitude can result in a significant difference in the well-being and happiness of FIV+ cats.
That is why we organize the FIV awareness campaign. |
