When feeders serve food to community cats, they face several challenges.
We decide to produce the Gold-D Feeder Tray to make life easier and more comfortable for feeders and community cats and as a means for public education and engagement.
Material & comfortable eating
The paper tray is made from materials for handling food. It is clean and safe for community cats.
Some feeders use paper plates or plastic bags, but the sides are too low, and the food spills easily. Plastics are also not environmental friendly.
We increase the tray's height so that it can hold both wet and dry food and will not spill.
With a generous width, the cats can eat comfortably without their whiskers touching the side, preventing whisker stress.
Environmentally-friendly disposal
After the cats finish their meals, feeders collect the tray and dispose of it in a rubbish bin. As it is made of 100% paper, the Gold-D feeder tray does not create plastic waste.
Sometimes, feeders are confronted by hostile public members blaming them for messy feeding and claiming that the feeding cause disease and attracts pests.
Food is always in short demand, so feeders never have the luxury to waste food.
With feeders looking after community cats, they are well fed and in good health. It prevents situations of starving cats salvaging food in rubbish bins. When community cat salvage food, the left overs attracts ants, rats, and cockroaches.
Nevertheless, it is always good to promote responsible feeding and clearing of leftovers and not to inconvenience the public.
Win-win for all stakeholders
To promote responsible feeding and to assure the public, the side of Gold-D feeder trays are printed with messages to assure the public of responsible feeding and that responsible feeders will dispose of the tray after use.
By incorporating these considerations, the Gold-D feeding tray facilitates feeder’s work, offers community cats a clean eating tray, and engages the public on responsible feeding. |
