Bobo was a pet golden retriever but was surrendered to the Singapore SPCA when she was about six years old.
She was adopted by a monastery and became their resident dog. There was a duty roster for volunteers to feed, bathe, and walk her.
Others volunteer to drive her for check-ups and medical care. Bobo’s story was featured in the Animal Protection Documentary.
We got to know Bobo though the Gold-D monastery food program to raise food for animals living in monasteries.
When the monastery had plans for major rebuilding, there were concerns over Bobo’s well being. The loud noise and dust from the construction will affect Bobo’s well being and cause her stress and anxiety.
Although reluctant, the monastery finally decided that it is safer for Bobo to go to a foster home, so we welcome Bobo to take care of her.
Bobo is a very relax and easy-going dog, and she quickly made friends with our cats, especially Uncle Rob and Mandy. We arranged medical check-ups for Bobo, and at 15 years old, she was showing signs of aging, and her back legs were becoming weaker. Bobo will need regular medical attention to ensure her well being.
After discussing with the monastery, we adopted Bobo to give her the care that she needs. We also adopted Molly so that Bobo has a companion.
Around Mar 2020, Bobo was not well and made regular visits to the vet. She passed away on 27 April 2020 of old age.
Bobo is featured on Gold-D dog wet, freeze dried and dry food.
It is our way of promoting adoption.
